The Parochial Church Council
The Parochial Church Council or PCC, is the executive body of St Saviour's. Its members are the clergy and churchwardens, together with a number of representatives of the laity elected at the annual parochial church meeting (APCM).
In accordance with the PCC (Powers) Measure 1956, the aim of the PCC ‘is to co-operate with the incumbent in promoting in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical’.
The PCC has between four and six regular meetings a year, including the meeting to approve the Annual Report and Financial Statements. In addition, there is a formal meeting after the APCM to elect the PCC officers.
There is a Standing Committee of the PCC that prepares agendas for full PCC meetings and deals with urgent business between PCC meetings.
