This year marks the tenth SouthWestFest - a fortnight of events and activities for all ages.

The Festival celebrations kick off on the evening of Friday 28 June with Pimlico Proms, an open-air concert in St George’s Square Gardens featuring classical favourites and a spectacular pyrotechnic finale.

The next day, 29 June, the Carnival Parade takes to the streets of SW1, followed by the Gala Launch Day in St George’s Square Gardens. As in previous years, St Saviour’s plans to run a Pimm’s Stall – please can you let Fiona Andrews know if you would like to help (even if it is for a hour or two) between 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm.

It is a fun day out – last year 8,000 people attended! There are musical performances, a children’s Victorian theatre adventure, animals from Vauxhall City Farm, children’s fairground rides, a helter skelter, food from Pimlico Farmers’ Market, free workshops, cooking demonstrations and over 40 stalls.

Other events of interest include Fr Regan O’Callaghan, our artist in residence, is holding an Open Studio and Exhibition in our Church Hall Basement between Saturday 29 June and Wednesday 3 July. He is exhibiting and selling some of his work he created during his recent trip to the Amazon. 10% of all sales will be donated between St Saviour’s and San Roque de Cumbaza School, San Martin, Peru.

On Sunday 30 June, there will be a river cruise along the Thames. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July there will be a promenade musical performance of Passport to Pimlico with an audience transported on old Routemaster buses around the Pimlico area.

This is only a snapshot of events. There are many, many more. Do take a look at the SWFest programme for details of all the events or visit http://southwestfest.org.uk/swf/
