It was a privilege to be asked to cook for the Murder Mystery Evening, although it means that I still have no idea who did it or why.
Catering ourselves means that we raise more money because we don’t have to pay anyone to cook and serve the food.
We used to have some very large saucepans and borrow other equipment, but this year it wasn’t possible. A quick trip to the wholesalers meant that we were able to buy some large trays for the oven, and members of the PCC lent their own pans, which saved the day.
If we are going to continue catering ourselves we need to replenish our supplies. We need almost everything anew: knives, large catering sized saucepans, plastic chopping boards, long wooden spoons, mixing bowls, and serving equipment.
If you know of anyone who has this type of equipment that is old but still useable, who might be prepared to donate it or sell it to us, would you let the Churchwardens know?
Similarly if you have any old kitchen knives, which have stable handles and a blade that can be sharpened, it would be a helpful start to rebuilding our equipment. Some things, such as chopping boards and wooden spoons need to be bought afresh, and it would be lovely to receive monetary donations for these.
