Welcoming other people is so important to us at St Saviour’s, and not meeting in person seems so odd.
At present we are doing all that we can to stay connected, not only to God through looking at how we pray, but to each other as members of the Body of Christ.
We now have a network of fellow congregants, each assigned to a small group. These contacts act as ‘shepherds’ to stay in touch with people by phone, offering companionship and saying a prayer. If you haven’t yet heard from a ‘shepherd’ and would like to, please let us know.
Diddy Disciples, our group for young children and their parents and carers, is continuing to meet online via Zoom (which you will need to download). Anyone with young children wishing to join the group should contact Melissa Holloway at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fr Ivan Khovaks has kindly offered to lead a series of bible studies during this time. These will take place online via Zoom (a free app that you will need to download), beginning in Eastertide and last 5 weeks. The bible study will focus on the Old Testament book Jonah.
Our Director of Music, Richard Gowers, is keen that our musical life is maintained at this time. This might come as weekly musical reflection with links to YouTube clips etc., or perhaps some online singing. Watch this space …
It is important to note that most of our costs as a church are continuing, yet so much of our funding (from collections and hiring our buildings) has now ceased. Please be generous in your financial support of St Saviour’s – is vital. Details of how to give are here or you can contact our Treasurer, Julie Churchyard, at email@example.com.
